Harvest Celebration 2025
Saturday 20th September
1pm to 3.30pm
at Out of the Drill Hall, 36 Dalmeny Street, Edinburgh, EH6 8RG
What’s On
We are hosting our second annual Harvest Celebration. This is to recognise the amazing community gardens across Edinburgh, and the people that make them. We will be putting on a free lunch for all, some brilliant speakers (see overleaf), including Pam Warhurst of Incredible Edible. There will be opportunities to share food, ideas and gardening tips with fellow gardeners, like-minded organisations, funders and councillors.
To book a place, book on line with the link below, email or call.

Speakers
Pam Warhust CBE, Incredible Edible
Pam is one of two founders of Incredible Edible, a now international network supporting people to create kinder, more confident, more connected communities through the power of food. From small beginnings with local people in Todmorden, the Incredible Edible network now has more than 100 groups in the UK, and 600 internationally. Incredible Edible’s central message is ‘if you eat, you’re in’ and Pam’s approach to gardening is similarly expansive, positive and inclusive, believing in the power of local people to create the systems change we need. Pam will be speaking about the Incredible Edible story and the ‘Right To Grow’. This is already being considered by the City of Edinburgh Council, and this is an opportunity to inspire everyone in our communities to campaign for its introduction, as well as share ideas about what this can look like in Scotland.
Greg Kenicer, Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh
Greg is the author of Scottish Plant Names, Scottish Plant Lore and Plant Magic. A botanist and tutor at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, he has inspired learners of all ages for 20 years. He has published many scientific papers on the evolution and diversity of peas and beans, but the fantastical relationships between plants and people is where his heart really lies.
Greg will be speaking about the connections between plants and people, and positive plant climate action.
Celia Aceae, Tea Sommelier and Botanist
Combining her love of growing edible plants with her interest in understanding the connections between plants, she worked as a tea specialist in Canada for nine years before moving to the UK to pursue an MSc in Plant Taxonomy. Dedicated to the constant pursuit of tea knowledge, she is about to start her doctoral studies with a project entitled Tea and People. When she’s not busy making tea, you can listen to her monthly horticulture column on CBC Radio Let’s Go and find her working with the International Conifer Conservation Programme at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
